At the bottom of the photograph is a black strip with &quot;Dynamiting the Ice Gorge, Kaw, River, Lawrence, Kans.&quot; printed in white ink. On the back is a note to Miss Emma Keister in La Crosse, Kansas from C.M. in Lawrence, Kansas. The note discussed that the location of the photograph is east of the bridge.
