    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Mabel Stoneback worked in the Army Air Corps as a clerk stenographer during the Second World War. Interviewed by Pattie Johnston on September 29, 2003, as part of the Lawrence Remembers: The World War II Years Project, Stoneback talked about her experiences during the war. Stoneback was born in Concordia, Kansas on April 5, 1915. She was raised in Lawrence, Kansas. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1933 and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in business. She then joined the Army Air Corps in 1940 and moved to Washington, D.C. While there, she received a promotion to work for General Hap Arnold. In 1941, she transferred to Kansas City to work a civil service job in the Army Finance Office. In June 1944, she joined the Army Air Corps again and moved to California. She eventually moved back to Lawrence, married, and raised a family. Stoneback passed away on February 20, 2017.]]></dcterms:description>
