Annual report of Lawrence Public Free Library for the year 1957. Includes book stock, circulation, and registration. The library started to provide magazines for patrons. The report mentions the growth of Lawrence and University of Kansas population and the necessity to work on the south end of the building. The library also planned to purchase a bookmobile to use as playground service. Edward A. Howard replaces Mr. LeRoy Fox as head librarian.
