Postcard with a black and white photograph of the 700 block of Massachusetts Street on the front. Photograph is looking north and down the middle of the street. Merchants Bank is at the beginning on the right side and Dick Bros Drugs is at the beginning of the left side. A banner hangs between the left and right side of the streets but is indistinguishable. At the bottom of the photograph is a black strip with "No. 6065. Mass. Street Looking North, Lawrence, KS." typed in white ink. On the back in the middle J. Bowers Photographic Co., London-Topeka" is typed sideways in black ink. A white border is at the bottom of the postcard. On the back is a note to Miss Clara Hendel in Hanover, Kansas from Lawrence, Kansas. Dated February 29, 1909. Postmarked March 2, 1909. On the back is information on when and from whom the postcard was acquired, Kevin Johnson 11/18/1976.
