Subject
Ice on rivers, lakes, etc. -- Kansas -- Lawrence
Kansas River (Kan.) -- Flood -- 20th century
Description
Postcard with a black and white photograph of a man standing next to a large piece of ice on the Kaw River on the front. Photograph depicts the river covered in sheets of ice with the man in the middle along with another man standing in the background. A white border is around the entire photograph. On the back is a note to Miss Fern Cummins in Kingfisher, Oklahoma from G.A.B. in Lawrence, Kansas. Note discusses how bad the ice is and how they're trying to get rid it with explosives. Note makes it sound like the writer is the man in the picture on the front. Postmarked January 24, 1910.
