This burying place has been ab_ndened for many years, and we find but one marble slab standing: the inscription Carrie P•., wife of M. E. White, born July 29, .1843, died, Sept. 25, 1865. A daughter of Zacariah Marshall who was killed by lightning was buried here, also one child of Wm. D. Wells. Charles Ayer, young son of Omar Ayer, was buried here, but later moved to Oak Hill. There has been no burials since Sept. 1869, when Charles Ralston, father of the present owner, Ernest Ralston, bought the farmo 6 �.' While Kansas was still a terri tory, the Clinton Township Company was formed. The first schoolhouse was a log cabin, and on August 17, 1859, the trustees of the Clinton Township Company gave a warranty deed to the trustees of the Clinton School Distriot. board members were Andrew Stout;. W. B. Disbrow, and Carson Sick. The School was taught by F. M. Draper and later by M. A. Davidson. They don't have to be smart, only answer questions like why dogs hate cats and how come God isn't married.
