ALEXANDER 1988 = Susan Alexander was born October 31, 1901, in Lawrence =3nd lived there most of her life. = She attended public schools in Lawrence and graduated =from Kansas University in 1925. She was a member of St.John =the Evangelist eatholic Church. = Mrs. Alexander taught school in western Kansas for a year, =then taught at St.Mary College in Leavenworth for two years. =She later worked as a proofreader at the Lawrence Journal-World :for 35, years, retiring in 1968. She married Arnold D. Alexander in 1945 in Lawrence. The originals belonged to her mother, Mabel (LAWSON) Transmeier, and are now in the possession of Letha McCRAR1. Mabil LAWSON changed schools during the 1910 school year so her name appears on Rock Creek and Lapeer Schools "Souvenir" records for that year. Other members of Letha's family that attended Lapeer School were: Ernest TRANSMEYER, her father, IVan TRANSMEYER, her uncle, Martha TRANSMEYER, her aunt, and Esther OEHRLE, a cousin.
