CORRECTIONS TO AUGUSTUS WATTLES GENEALOGY
Lucille Wattles has informed us of the following corrections to the Genealogy
of Augustus Wattles that appeared in the last issue (Vol. XIII No.3) of The
Pioneer. Our thanks.
The names of children for Augustus (WATTLES) and Susan LOW should have been:

married Lundy HIATT, M.D., June 1, 1863, resided Mound City.
Theodore Weld WATTLES, b. 25 May 1840, Ohio, Farmer, married Malvena HAMMOND,
Jan. 1883, children: Howard and Ruth.
Emma WATTLES, b. July 15, 1842, Mercer Co., Ohio, married Oct. 18, 1864, Eaton
MORSE, farmer, children: Walter Lowe, John Otis, Theodore Wattles,
Stuart Tellson, Orlin Raymond, and Eleanor Eaton.
Mary Ann WATTLES, b. Oct. 10, 1845, Medical Doctor, married July 4, 1882,
Carroll FAUNCE, M.D., children: Theodore Wattles, Eugene, and Hilda.
This information is from Perley Family Genealogy, page 242, which I found at
the Newberry Library in Chicago.
Stephen WATTLES of the First Indian Hom~ Guard, was the son of Nathaniel
WATTLES and Prudence HOWARD. Nathaniel's parents were Nathaniel WATTLES and
Ruth DEWEY. The first Nathaniel is No. 31 on page 204 of the Autobiography of
Gurdn Wallace Wattles. After the death of her husband, Prudence went to
Kalamazoo, Michigan. Her sons were Myrtle, George, and Stephen.
